Bethany grew up in Danville, Kentucky, a small town in central Kentucky that is also home to her alma mater, Centre College. Bethany moved to New Orleans as a young professional and ending up earning her PhD in Geography from Louisiana State University in 2010. Her academic and professional pursuits have centered around community documentary and preservation work. She was also involved in various recovery and research projects in southern Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 BP Oil Spill. Prior to her work at NewTown, Bethany moved back to her hometown and served as Executive Director of Danville’s longstanding Main Street program. Bethany moved to Macon in 2016 with her dog Prince, a charming Pomeranian, to join the NewTown team and be part of the city’s growing community building movement.
At NewTown, Bethany manages all of NewTown's investment programs for real estate and businesses. Bethany is responsible for working with people who are interested in locating businesses downtown, helping them find suitable sites, and making necessary connections with agencies for building improvements. If you are interested in developing property or starting, relocating or expanding your business downtown, Bethany is your best resource.

Ricardo is from Fayetteville, North Carolina and is an alumnus of High Point University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Ricardo joins the NewTown Macon staff with over 12 years of sales and consulting expertise.
Ricardo is the proud father of a creative teen daughter. Both a newlywed and new to Macon, Ricardo and his family enjoy exploring their new home and are looking forward to all the adventures Macon has to offer.
At NewTown, Ricardo is responsible for one-on-one coaching services to potential and current loan applicants. He also coordinates NewTown’s support programs serving Macon-Bibb’s small business and real estate development communities.
Ricardo thinks the apple scones at Z Beans are amazing with a caramel latte. He and my wife love going to the Douglass Theatre for live jazz and plays.

Macheita is a Washington County native and alumna of Mercer University. At Mercer, she served as a member of the Honor Society and National Society of Leadership and Success. Macheita also received a certificate of Achievement from the Urban Leadership Academy’s Cohort 5.
Shortly after moving to Macon in 2003, Macheita began working for a local environmental contractor as Accounting Manager where her passion for accounting grew. Macheita’s accounting expertise led her to work at various organizations within the railcar, non-profit, and education industries.
Macheita is a devoted wife of 22 years to her husband Tamayo; doting mother to 3 beautiful children, Jamarcus, Paris, and Emmanuel; and a grandmother to 1 galloping granddaughter, Kaia. Macheita enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, singing, traveling, reading, and great dining.
At NewTown, Macheita is responsible for managing the loan and collections process, portfolio monitoring, and one-on-one accounting coaching services to loan applicants and current loan holders.
No doubt, Macheita’s most wanted burger is the Second Street Heat Burger from Macon Beer Company! She delights in The Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza and feels it ushers in the spirit of Christmas.

Antwain grew up in Macon, GA and graduated from Westside High School. While in high school, he was captain of the bowling team, and even won a state championship with the school. Immediately after high school, he worked for the City of Macon’s AmeriCorps program while attending college at Macon State. AmeriCorps is where his love for community truly grew into what it is today. Antwain was able to spend his time in at-risk areas around Macon where he made a real difference in young peoples’ lives.
In 2017, he graduated college in Macon and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Georgia State University. In 2016, he won 1st place in a statewide IIA Internal Audit Competition and was a founding member of Middle Georgia’s State University Accounting Association. He worked as a tutor for Middle Georgia State University’s School of Business where he taught students accounting and finance concepts. He also served as treasurer of the Internal Audit Association and president of a student organization called B.O.L.D (Brothers of Leadership and Distinction).
Prior to NewTown, Antwain worked for a publicly sold company in the railcar industry for three years as an accounting controller and internal audit lead. Today, his passions are still focused on community and mentorship. He believes that NewTown offers one of the best opportunities for him give back to the community that he loves.
At NewTown, Antwain is responsible for underwriting loans and coaching clients through the loan application process.
La Bella Morelia is one of Antwain’s favorite restaurants and he thinks more people should try it! Antwain has always enjoyed the atmosphere of First Friday in downtown Macon.
