Fun for the Family

Pack up the kids and head downtown for family fun! Between attractions, family-friendly restaurants, ample park space, and engaging events throughout the year, downtown has something for the whole family to enjoy. Here are a few of our favorite picks:ย

Camouflage an educational experience as an opportunity to have fun. Visit the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame to learn about Georgian athletes and play with interactive displays like a basketball court. Cross the street to visit the Tubman Museum to view thought-provoking works and historical objects that will spark conversation. Pack a picnic or grab takeout from a downtown restaurant and let the kids play in the splashpad between the two museums on a sunny day. Just donโ€™t forget the towels!ย

Get your game on! Throw axes at ManiaxeThrowing, or see who can climb the wall the fastest at Macon Rocks Climbing Gym. Finish the day with dinner at Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen and play arcade games in their basement.

For the more artistic family, sign up for a kid-friendly paint class at X-Art Sip and Paint Lounge or the 567 Center for Renewal. Take a walk around downtown to find all six pieces in the Macon Sculpture Walk and play a tune in the Music Sculpture Park on Third Street. Visit Comics Plus of Macon for new reading materials and stop by the Rookery for a milkshake.ย
