What is it?
Shop in downtown Macon and get rewarded! Make purchases at any downtown Macon business this July and earn real cash back just for snapping your receipt. Visit five times, text in your receipts, and receive a gift card worth 20% of your combined total (up to $50) to the downtown business of your choice.
Summer Snaps is a NewTown Macon program built around one simple idea: Maconites who love this city should be rewarded for showing it.
How does it work?
Shop at any eligible downtown Macon business during the month of July 2026.
To get started, text the word "SNAP" to 478-425-3479 to opt in to our text service. This is how you'll submit your receipts and how we'll reach you about your reward.
Once you're opted in, snap a photo of your receipt from any downtown Macon business and text it to the same number. Do that five times with five valid receipts, and we'll reach back out through that same number to confirm your reward and ask which downtown business you'd like your gift card from. When is it?
Summer Snaps runs July 1 through July 31, 2026. All receipts must be submitted by July 31, 2026. Gift cards will be issued by September 1, 2026.
Where can I shop?
Summer Snaps works at any business located within Downtown Macon, and we really mean any business. Grab lunch at your favorite restaurant, pick up a gift at a local boutique, get a fresh cut at your go-to barber, treat yourself to a spa day, or stock up at a local shop. If the business is downtown, your receipt counts.
A few examples of the kinds of places that qualify:
- A sit-down dinner or takeout order at a downtown restaurant
- A retail purchase at a locally owned boutique or gift shop
- A service appointment at a hair salon, barbershop, or nail studio
- A car wash or auto service shopÂ
- A round of drinks at a downtown bar
If the doors are open downtown, Summer Snaps is in play.
Fine Print (Rules & Requirments)
Only genuine receipts from businesses within the official boundaries of Downtown Macon are eligible for Summer Snaps. Eligible businesses include any retail, food and beverage, service, or entertainment business whose primary location is within the Downtown Macon district. Purchases made through third-party delivery services (such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, or similar platforms) are not eligible.
Receipts must represent a direct purchase of goods or services. Gift card purchases are not valid as receipt submissions and gift cards may not be used toward purchases submitted for the program.
To qualify for a reward, participants must submit at least five (5) valid receipts, and those receipts must represent purchases from at least two (2) different downtown businesses. Limit of one (1) receipt per business per day. Participants may earn only one gift card reward. Each reward will be issued as a single gift card to one downtown business of the participant's choice.
Gift cards will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the total program fund of $2,000 is exhausted. Partial submittals (fewer than five receipts) have no cash value. Employees of NewTown Macon are excluded from the program.
All receipts must be submitted by July 31, 2026. Gift cards will be issued by September 1, 2026.
NewTown Macon has final authority to determine receipt eligibility in the event of any dispute.
