Dashboard, in partnership with NewTown Macon and the Muscogee & Creek Nations, proudly presents Bright City: Fanning the Flames the fifth rendition of the Bright City initiative. This outdoor exhibition, along Second Street Lane in Downtown Macon, is set to dazzle the city of Macon with a captivating display of illuminated photographs that celebrate the unique aspects of Macon’s culture, community, and rich history.

Building on last year’s exhibition, “Rekindling The Fires,” which provided artists from the Muscogee & Creek Nation a platform to express their experiences of returning to the ancestral lands of Macon, Georgia, “Fanning the Flames” takes the initiative to new heights. This edition will feature a collaborative effort between Muscogee Nation artists Victoria Tiger and Harmony Apel, and local Macon photographers Mike Young, Diana Davenport, Sarah Lemon, and Matthew Odom. Together, they will produce a collection of unique image pairings curated by Tracie Revis that reflect the essence of Macon’s history, and culture.

This exhibition promises to be a visually captivating display that showcases the unique facets of Macon and celebrates its diverse identity. Join us in celebrating the unveiling of “Fanning the Flames” during the show opening on Friday, October 6 from 7pm to 9pm.

The exhibition will be available to view along Second Street Lane, the alley between Poplar Street and Cherry Street during the show opening. Join NewTown, Dashboard, and the featured photographers for a reception beginning at 6:30pm at NewTown Macon (555 Poplar Street). Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
